About Ownership

Egyptian Sudanese Bank was initially established in August 2005 as a subsidiary of Piraeus Bank Egypt. In June 2006, Piraeus Bank sold its shares to Capella Investment Management and Lotus Investment Management, both registered in the British Virgin Islands. These companies are owned by Qalaa Holdings (Egypt) and a major investment group from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Qalaa Holdings has investments across the Arab world, including cement, fertilizers, oil, and financial industries, with an investment capital exceeding USD 5 billion. Qalaa Holdings remains a key investor in Sudan.

In 2014, Al-Tadhamon Bank acquired 70% of Egyptian Sudanese Bank.
